happy halloween

Borrowed costume, 5 houses, complete oblivion to earning candy for saying hello, and your parents pretty much eating it all.

Do these count to say he actually trick or treated?

Jack was a great sport. He seemed to get a kick out of seeing his costumed self in his reflection and even gave us a "roar" when prompted.

no longer a babe

Jack never ceases to amaze us with how he interacts with his world. He notices every detail, every living creature and wants to get right up close to smell, touch, taste (!) to imprint a lasting memory. I learn so much from him and am reminded often to take the time to enjoy this life. ~ Cheryl

these are the words jack knows, jack knows, these are the words jack knows

Wow! At the risk of sounding like a doting papa (a risk I'm wiling to take!), we recently compiled a list of words our little man knows and uses fairly regularly: Teeth. Up. Down. Avocado ("ah-doh"). Bus. Truck. Milk. Juice. Toast. Nana. Papa. Mama. No. Daniel ("Dano"). Baby. Arm. Eyes. Nose. Hair. Turtle. Tomato ("may-mo"). Banana ("nana"). Spoon. Hot. Tractor ("tah-tah"). Video. Keys. Ball. Pasta. Spaghetti ("beppi"). Puppy. Bird. Boat. Phone. Apple. Gentle. Uh-0h. Bye-bye. When did this happen, exactly???

light the night

On Saturday evening, Cheryl, Jack and I took part in the Light the Night Walk to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. The cool autumn air required a brisk pace along the Dallas Road route, but it was heartwarming to see so many people there. We walked with a team from Cardinal Law and I was able to raise $390 thanks to generous support from many. Thank you very much!
